S'more Cereal Treats

Sunday was the official start of Fall and while I am excited to break out the pumpkin and the spices I thought just one last summer treat would be nice.

Frankly I love cereal treats and could make and eat them weekly. I like that you can combine most any cereal with marshmallow and add chocolate and you have a tasty treat!

S'more Cereal Treats

3 Tablespoons of butter
1 10 oz. package of marshmallows
6 cups of graham cracker cereal

2 cups of chopped chocolate of chocolate chips

Prepare pan with cooking spray and set aside. In a large sauce pan melt butter over low heat , then add marshmallows and stir until the marshmallows are melted. Remove from heat, add the graham cracker cereal and stir well. Pour into pan and press down.

In small sauce pan melt chocolate and then spread over the cereal treats. Cut and enjoy!

Simple and delicious with the essence of your favorite summer s'mores! Gooey marshmallows, crunchy graham cereal and smooth creamy chocolate a match made in heaven.

I hope that you enjoy these and if you have your own version please share it with me.

Tofutti Cuties and Tofutti Premium Frozen Dessert

Good morning! I was recently given the opportunity to taste a few frozen desserts from the Tofutti Company. Of the many dairy free, vegan and Kosher offerings I chose the  Tofutti Cuties and Tofutti Premium Frozen Dessert in Almond Bark

In all honesty I was prepared to dislike these products for many reasons, first and foremost because they contained soy. The only other time I had tried tofu was about 15 years ago and some friends were experimenting, lets just say the taste put me off for the last 15 years.

I was not only pleasantly surprised by the taste and texture of both the Tofutti Cuties and the Tofutti Frozen Dessert I was blown away by the taste.

The Cutties reminded me of long ago days waiting for the ice cream man to come around the neighborhood so that I could get my favorite novelty, an ice cream sandwich. The chocolate Cutties are rich, creamy and delicious! You cannot tell that they are not real ice cream or in fact are completely dairy free.

These "ice cream" sandwiches come in several flavors: Cookies ‘N Cream, Vanilla, Mint Chocolate Chip, Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Key Lime, Wild Berry, Coffee Break, Strawberry Wave, and Very Vanilla and of course the selection will vary by store.

I also sampled the Tofutti Vanilla Almond Bark Premium Frozen Dessert and once again I was in love. It is creamy and rich, it has the texture of ice cream and the crunch chocolate covered almonds which melt in your mouth. The almond flavor is very distinct and reminded me of a piece of delicious marzipan.

The Premium Frozen Dessert comes in several of your favorite traditional flavors, like Chocolate, Better Pecan, Vanilla, Vanilla Fudge, Wild Berry and of course the Vanilla Almond Bark.

If you are a vegan or lactose intolerant than perhaps these tasty treats might be an option for you.

Or if you want to prolong the taste of summer than these might be the perfect dessert, and the good news is that you can get them at most grocery stores all year long!

For more specific information about the ingredients and nutritional information please visit the Tofutti company web page.

Disclaimer: I was given these products by the Tofutti Company. I was not paid for my review, and my opinions positive or negative are my own.

S'more Brownies

Although many are claiming Fall is in the air where I live it is still in the 90's and humid. So I thought I would drag out the taste of Summer by making some S'more Brownies!

This recipe is fast and easy, as I like most of my recipes to be. Now that is not to say that I do not enjoy the kitchen I do but for snack type desserts I prefer fast and easy.

S'more Brownies
Inspired by The S'mores Cookbook

1 box of Ghiradelli brownies and the egg, water, oil
2 cups of mini marshmallows
3 cups chocolate chips
2/12 cups of graham cracker cereal

Prepare brownies according to directions on the back of the box for an 8 x 8 inch pan. Line pan with tin foil that hangs over the pan at least two inches. Make sure to spray the tin foil with cooking spray.  Bake for required time and then remove from oven. Spread marshmallows over the surface and let melt. In the meantime over low heat melt the chocolate chips until creamy and smooth, add the cereal and mix. Pour the chocolate mixture over the marshmallows. Cool until the chocolate is just set and then cut and return to the refrigerator until firm.

What do you think? These brownies are moist, crunchy, gooey and have the taste of a s'more with the added bonus of a rich chocolate brownie. I made these and gave a large pan of them to friends, a week later they are still raving about them. They loved the combination of textures and the twist on a s'more.

I hope you try these brownies as well as one of the many fabulous recipes in The S'mores Cookbook.

Have a great weekend!
